As long as Linear Subtrim isn't checkmarked on the Outputs page, you retain the full -100% to +100% range, even with subtrim off-center. And the default for Linear Subtrim is to not be checkmarked on the Outputs page. What's good for subtrims is good for trims.

I have also been able to configure a model in OpenTX Companion 2.1.9 and write the Model and Settings to the radio.
